This Is my first Blog , I Love Meat Loaf , The First Time I heard him was On Top Of the Pops In the 70s and I Was amazed I love all his music

1. Marvin Lee Aday better known as Meat Loaf was born on September 27, 1947 in Dallas.

2. Meat Loaf's Bat Out Of Hell album sold more than 40 million and sells an estimated 200,000 copies each year and astonishing achievement even by today's standards!

3. Meat Loaf was so determined to avoid being enrolled into the army that he deliberately put on 68Ibs in a month in an attempt to fail a medical. The army still passed him fit and sent him his draft notice two weeks later, but the singer simply chose to ignore it.

4. Meat Loaf's early career was spent performing with bands which included the quite frankly ridiculously named Floating Circus, Popcorn Blizzard and Meatloaf Soul.

5. It is alleged that Meat Loaf first caught the eye of record companies after a story leaked out about him blowing a fuse on a record monitor when he performed a high note with his band Meat Loaf Soul.

6. In addition to music, Meat Loaf is a talented actor having appeared in over 50 films and television shows, often as himself in fact and as characters resembling his stage persona. Most notable are Eddie in The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975), Robert "Bob" Paulson in Fight Club (1999), and "The Lizard" in The 51st State (2002). He has also appeared as a guest actor in television shows such as Monk, Glee, South Park, House, and Tales from the Crypt.

7. Meat Loaf is a signed up member of Hartlepool after researching the team he joined their website and has become somewhat of a die-hard fan of the local football team.

8. So why is Meat Loaf called Meat Loaf? Well, we're can't confirm the reason because the singer has given numerous contradictory "official" tales down the years. However, we can reveal that the Texan-born star doesn't like to eat meatloaf. Strange but true.
